Where it All Began
Howard Lock Consulting Ltd started life back as early as 1999 when Howard embarked on his new career as a Business Analyst, initially working for an internet service provider capturing requirements for static websites. He was quickly promoted to work on more complex bespoke websites and applications.
With a passion for the internet, technology and analysis, Howard was snapped up by a leading IT consultancy in 2000 and started life as a consultant Business Analyst.
Howard officially founded Howard Lock Consulting Ltd in May 2018 when he made the decision to move away from working as a permanent Senior Business Analyst to a fully independent consultant offering Business Analysis as a Service (BAaaS).
The resourcing and recruitment side of the business came about by accident when Howard wasn’t available to fill a contract business analyst role. Instead, he decided to flex his pool of Associate Analysts which had been growing since he set up his first specialist BA group on LinkedIn in 2006.
The first placement was at a challenger bank in July 2021; since then, the business has grown from strength to strength.

Since that first placement, we have introduced circa 100 people across our consultancy clients and partners.
The majority of the roles have been Business Analysts however, we can support any type of IT delivery role on a contract, freelance or permanent basis.
Our success is certainly built on reputation and referrals.
Howard Lock
Having spent 25 years’ in IT as a consultant business / systems / process / data analyst, Howard is still as passionate as ever and hasn’t lost his spark. He has worked in a diverse range of sectors including banking, insurance, financial services, telco, fibre optics, civil engineering, utilities, government, retail, aviation, sustainability and shipping.
During his career, he’s had the pleasure of working with some well-known brands including Visa, Virgin Atlantic, Lloyd’s Banking Group, Morrisons, Tesco Mobile, MSC, Salesforce and Oracle.
Zoe Lock
Zoe joined as a Director in early 2022 to meet the increasing demands of our existing and new clients.
She is responsible for all internal processes & procedures and manages the candidate resourcing and back-office functions.
She also manages our expanding Associate pool and skills matrix, which is used for consultant benchmarking.
